Social at Richard and Ann Chung's Pond and GardenSunday, August 17, 2008 3:00 p.m. An Invitation from Richard Chung It was my childhood dream to build a pond with a waterfall without understanding why my famous father came home and occupied himself with trees, shrubs, plants, and most of all a water garden pond and the sounds of the waterfall. After a long delay in the decision making process of either building a water garden in our backyard or a good possibility of moving to Florida and also thought of not easily duplicating the existing landscape finally we decided to build our pond with a waterfall in Audubon, Pa. last year. After having observed many ponds in Florida, California, Arizona, and with my few trips to Canada, Korea, Japan, China, and Thailand, and many other parts of the world, also after talking with several DVWGS members and asking what their biggest regret was concerning their pond they replied that they wish it were bigger and deeper and after learning a lot from these kind people through annual pond tours, bus trips, seminars and other social activities pertaining to water gardening we built our own. I carried my plans with me abroad and everywhere else I traveled revising and correcting them for many years. I was well prepared for the start of our pond last year and completed it this year. All DVWGS members are welcome to visit Chung's Garden and Pond and enjoy the afternoon with our landscape, graceful fish and croaking frogs. Our home remodeling schedule is driving us crazy in dealing with so many contractors, but we are confident to meet the August 17th gathering date. See you all...............Happy summer Richard and Ann Chung |
